In A Forest
In a Forest takes the viewer in an unexpected transformation from one reality to the next. With the visual lexicon of a thriller, this film introduces an exciting pursuit through a forest that ends on a film set. During the pursuit the expectations of the viewer are being challenged. This is a film about believing in an illusion. In a Forest is one of the four films that was selected for the Ultrakort competition of the Netherlands Film Fund in collaboration with Pathe, and will be screened in 70 Pathe theatres around the Netherlands during the summer of 2010.

From august the 19th, the short animated film ‘In a Forest’ Will be screened in Pathe Movie theaters before blockbuster, The Last Airbender.
The film is appearing in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Breda, Delft, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Groningen, Helmond, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht en Zaandam.

Vanaf vandaag, donderdag 19 augustus, is de korte Nederlandse animatiefilm In a Forest te zien als voorprogramma van de blockbuster, The Last Airbender.
In a Forest is als voorfilm te zien in Pathetheaters in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Breda, Delft, Den Haag, Eindhoven, Groningen, Helmond, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht en Zaandam.
De film neemt de kijker mee in een onverwachte transformatie van de ene realiteit in de andere. Met het visuele lexicon van de thriller introduceert deze ultrakorte animatiefilm een spannende achtervolging door een donker bos die eindigt op een filmset. Gaandeweg wordt het verwachtingspatroon van het publiek uitgedaagd. Een film over geloven in een illusie.
Het idee voor In a Forest komt voort uit een persoonlijke fascinatie van regisseur Fons Schiedon voor film en het proces van film maken. De magische kwaliteit van cinema om mensen in een donkere zaal tot vervoering te brengen, staat in groot contrast met de complexe en weinig intieme omstandigheden waaronder films tot stand komen.

Muziek en geluidsontwerp: Bram MeindersmaFons Schiedon (www.fonsschiedon.com) is als illustrator opgeleid en werkte voor Esquire, Volkskrant Magazine en Park Avenue. Maar hij maakte vooral naam met animaties voor Nickelodeon, MTV Asia en NPS. Voor Submarine creerde hij onder andere de karakters voor de animatieserie Kika & Bob.
