Dutch animation series KIKA & BOB wins Europrix Top Talent Award in Graz

Dutch Art director Fons Schiedon is awarded the Europrix Top Talent Award 2008 in the category ?Interactive TV? for his 26-episodes animated series KIKA & BOB, produced by Submarine. KIKA & BOB is a fast- paced, funny, children's animated series with optional interactive TV games and a website. Smart seven-year old Kika and brave - but not really savy - fireman Bob are blown to the other side of the world by a typhoon, during their attempt to rescue Kika's kitten Tiger who is stuck on the top of a church tower. Overcoming terrible obstacles, crossing strange territories and meeting even stranger people and animals, Kika and Bob try to travel back home. Add to this the All-Knowing-Narrator, a walking and talking Encyclopedia of Bizarre and Unnecessary Trivia. KIKA & BOB is a cross-media production, created by Vincent Bal and Colette Bothof and targeted at the 7-11 age group (as well as those between 11 and 77). The series are produced by Submarine and globally sold to more than fifteen countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Scandinavia and India. Submarine is a Dutch production company specialized in documentaries, animation series and games. In recent years Submarine produced the first Second Life documentary, called MY SECOND LIFE, the animation / documentary series NAKED and the first complete game of a Dutch Film: CRUSADE IN JEANS ? Art director Fons Schiedon heeft de Europrix Top Talent Award 2008 in de categorie Interactive TV gewonnen. Hij nam de prijs in ontvangst voor de 26-delige Nederlandse animatieserie Kika & Bob, geproduceerd door Submarine. Kika & Bob is een humoristisch kinderprogramma over het stoere 9-jarige meisje Kika en de niet zo snuggere brandweerman Bob. Samen worden ze door een storm naar de andere kant van de aardbol geblazen op het moment dat ze Kika's katje Tijgertje van de kerktoren proberen te redden. Ze reizen de hele wereld over om zo snel mogelijk weer in hun woonplaats terug te keren en Tijgertje te redden. Kika & Bob is een crossmediale serie, waarbij de kijkers na iedere aflevering worden opgeroepen het katje Tijgertje te verzorgen door games te spelen via www.kikaenbob.nl. De serie is momenteel nog te zien bij de NPS op Z@pp. Vanaf voorjaar 2009, zal de interactieve DVD verkrijgbaar zijn. Kika & Bob is geproduceerd door Submarine en is nu al wereldwijd aan meer dan vijftien landen verkocht, waaronder Engeland, Frankrijk, Scandinavie en India.
